This Week's Music Notes

To celebrate Welcome Home Sunday this Sunday, September 10, Lynnhurst presents a special treat! We are truly blessed with an abundance of talent in our congregation, and from the abundance a wonderful new ensemble has emerged...The Lynnhurst Trumpet Quartet! Made up of members and friends, Chris Anderson, Nathan Krebs, Ace Gassman and Rebecca Warren, the ensemble will play Festival worship music from the Baroque to the present day under the direction of Ben Dyleuth. Ben is a recent graduate of St Olaf College in Northfield and will serve as Lynnhurst’s Interim Choir Director through January. We warmly welcome the Quartet and Ben to the service and thank each of them for their many gifts!

The music in the service covers modern Festival Music from Kenneth Jennings (1925-2015), a Baroque Trumpet tune from Jeremiah Clarke (1674-1707), and an introspective Invocation based on Gregorian Chant from Charles Callahan (b. 1951).

Please plan to join Lynnhurst in worship next Sunday, September 17, for the return of the Lynnhurst Choir after the summer break under the direction of Ben Dyleuth!
