Youth Programs

Lynnhurst Church is a community that encourages learning. Each Sunday, from September through May, our energetic and committed volunteer Sunday School teachers lead children from preschool through high school in exploring the Bible, their relationships with God, their families and the world.

This summer six youth from Lynnhurst joined together with 35 young people from four local congregations to travel to Washington, D.C., for a Faith and Advocacy trip. During a summer with record-breaking heat, the youth explored historical sites and talked to various politicians about their beliefs and passions. Some highlights of the trip were going participating in the worship service at the National Cathedral, touring the Holocaust Memorial Museum and meeting with Minnesota Representative Keith Ellison and others to discuss about topics important to the youth. These topics include anti-bullying, LGBT rights, environmental issues, poverty and much more! The youth have shared that this experience helped them understand that they have a voice that is important to be heard. The young people returned to their homes committed to continuing to express their beliefs and continue to serve the world and their communities.

Lynnhurst also provides children with the opportunity to share their
creative gifts by performing in special church services, the annual Christmas
Pageant and the Lynnhurst Kids’ Home Companion, or through special art
  and craft programs.

Babies and toddlers are also welcome at Lynnhurst, as our cozy cribbery is available and staffed by loving church members so parents and caregivers can attend services or events.

Confirmation

Each September eighth graders are invited to begin preparation for Confirmation, which takes place in May. Led by the senior minister, the confirmation group explores their own beliefs, the beliefs and faiths of others, church history and the Bible.
